Although ACCA is recognised for legal tax purposes, it does not have an agreement with an accounting body in South Africa, while ICAEW, ICAS and CA Ireland have agreements with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. In March 2014, ACCA signed a strategic partnership agreement with the national accounting firm UAE Accountants and Auditors Association (AAA) to help them develop a new Chartered Accountant qualification across the country. The exams will take place together and the successful graduates will obtain both the qualifications of the ACCA and the new Chartered Accountants of the United Arab Emirates – the UAECA (Chartered Accountant of the United Arab Emirates). The ACCA and the Canadian Certified General Accountants Association (CAG-Canada) have entered into a Global Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). Originally signed in 2006, the agreement was renewed in July 2011. In 2012, CGA Canada became part of CPA Canada. The MRA remains in effect in all provinces except Quebec.
Members of both bodies applying in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement should also remain members of their initial appointment. The provincial agencies of CGA and CGA Canada signed the existing Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2011. Following the unification of the three Canadian accounting bodies in 2014, the obligations of each CGA body that was a party to the agreement were transferred to the new PCA body for that jurisdiction. With the exception of CPA Bermuda, which did not have a former CGA agency, and CPA Quebec, which terminated the ACCA on October 17, 2012, the new CPA organizations continued to comply with the agreement. On April 8, 2020, CPA Canada sent the ACCA a notice of termination of the MRA to terminate the MRA effective April 30, 2021. The Canadian CPA profession and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) are currently negotiating a new agreement that will determine how members of each profession can obtain the other`s credentials. In this article, I will answer some of these questions. I will also discuss the US-CPA exceptions to the ACCA and the US CPA and ACCA agreement. To obtain a U.S. CPA license, its members can take a simplified version of the CPA exam known as IQEX. The old agreement was signed on 30 September. It has agreements with 41 Chinese universities, many of which are leaders in the disciplines of finance and accounting and have an excellent academic reputation in a wider range of subjects. Some of the best-known institutions include Tsinghua University, Xiamen University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Xi`an Jiaotong University, and Sun Yat-Sen University. The renewed agreement will apply until 30 June 2025. While several CPA exam courses can help you learn, states don`t have their own CPA courses. This partnership will strengthen your recognition as a financial professional in the region with a dual membership in ACCA and AAA. Applicants may request to renounce certain articles depending on their level of education. Or they can take the “Certified Accounting Technician Qualification” exam to do without a few papers after practical experience. Please note, however, that you can only receive a maximum of nine exceptions for documents on applied knowledge and applied skills. Additionally, you cannot get exceptions for Strategic Professional parties. Therefore, all candidates for these papers must sit.

ACCA and the local statutory accounting body Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) offer partial recognition of each other. The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is the most recognized lawyer, trainer and provider of standards, guidance and certifications to the internal audit profession. Finally, almost all jurisdictions require CPAs to have at least 150 graduate credit hours, which is equivalent to 5 years of full-time study (or a U.S. master`s degree). Topics include: financial accounting, management accounting, financial reporting, taxes, corporate law, audit and audit, and financial management. The full professional qualification of the ACCA is considered equivalent to a master`s degree taught in the United Kingdom by the British NARIC and the Department of Education. These courses are available for the first seven Foundations level exams and are hosted on edX, along with content developed by Epigeum.
